Adventure mobile games are a great way to spend your free time. Whether you’re looking to clash some villages, slice some fruit, or catapult birds into the sky, there’s probably a mobile game out there that’s perfect for you to spend those relaxing and leisurely minutes. But if you’re looking for something new and different, you might find that the selection of games is just a bit too ordinary.

You’ve probably heard the phrase, “you are what you eat” before. Profound as this phrase may be, it takes on a whole new meaning in the critically-acclaimed game, I am Bread, featured today in Apple’s, “Keep it Weird” collection.

In this highly tactile, off-beat, and quirky adventure game, you can expect to find yourself in some sticky situations. Make your way through the muck and clutter of the kitchen with nothing but the doughy, soft edges and corners you’re made of. Make it to the toaster in time, and you’ve found yourself victorious – just make sure you don’t violate the 5-second rule or get too dirty crawling around the kitchen in the process.

From the makers of the viral game, Surgeon Simulator comes the ultimate adventure game with 8 high-stakes levels of gameplay, interactive elements, and gravity-defying movement mechanics.

I am Bread is a critically-acclaimed adventure game that’s made its way to the mobile game scene in 2015. In the highly saturated mobile adventure game market, it’s difficult to stand out – even if a game is highly popular across different gaming platforms.

To stand out, it’s not enough to have notoriety outside of an app store to remain visible to users. That’s why with the right ASO tools, Bossa Studios Ltd can increase its keyword ranking to match its outside success within Apple’s App Store.

Screenshots

I am Bread currently uses some ASO best practices for screenshots. With a feature video, I am Bread introduces its one-of-a-kind gameplay whereas in this instance, the title and subtitle may not do so clearly to unfamiliar users.

I am Bread highlights gameplay objectives with visible copy across the bottom of their screenshots. However, there is little variation in highlighting other features like accolades it has received or publicized reviews from popular gaming blogs. These elements are crucial to highlight in screenshots, as they add to app relevancy as an attestation to quality and directly affect conversion.

Overall, I am Bread introduces the user to its gameplay and carries their overall campy theme across its screenshots. However, the screenshot set is undifferentiated and lacks fundamental ASO creative best practices that could help with increasing conversion rate performance.

Metadata

In highly competitive and saturated markets like adventure games, App Store metadata plays an important role in keyword optimization for differentiation. However, metadata assets should simultaneously serve to briefly inform the user about the game, as well.

Title tags offer additional space for app developers to rank for keywords relevant to app gameplay and in-app features. Title tags also help users get a brief introduction of the app without having to click on the app product page.

Since 80% of organic downloads come from users downloading directly from the search page, app developers should use this allotted space to help increase their app discoverability by injecting relevant and high-volume keywords associated with their app.

I am Bread could use assistance from experienced ASO experts to optimize their metadata assets to include more relevant keywords associated with adventure games and app functionality in both the title and subtitle of their app. Currently, Bossa Studios Ltd is underutilizing crucial metadata assets by forgoing title tags and the subtitle altogether.

Overall

It’s not enough to be the best thing since sliced bread. While I am Bread made a splash in the gaming world with its one-of-a-kind adventure game experience, relying on notoriety outside of the App Store can result in a loss of opportunity to attract new users and increase visibility. But with any new territory, there are always new opportunities to improve. With the right ASO tools, Bossa Studios Ltd can further support its App Store performance to match its multi-platform success.
